The sketch has been sitting on my scanner since May, I’ve been meaning to paint it, but uhh. I’m afraid. So, I was bored and did a ten-minute colour test which will likely turn out to be better than the actual finished thing, hah.

OKAY GUYS.

I HAVE A GOOD IDEA (maybe) FOR A FANFIC.

Okay, here goes. =w=

You know how Desmond is in the animus, kidnapped by Abstergo, etcetcetc.

What if it was all a dream?
A dream as in, Desmond is actually very, very old and in a coma. He’s been married to Lucy for many years (explaining why he has such a bond with her in his dream and why she’s so important).

Ezio, Altair (Those two could be old childhood nicknames from a game - explaining the foreign names), and Connor are his relatives in some way, and when they die in Desmond’s Animus memories, they are actually dying in real life (most likely from old age, or something.) All of the things that happen to them in the animus are somehow related to something that happened in real life.

Lucy’s death also happened, but she died of some sort of disease.

Desmond has children - possibly grandchildren - who are there when he wakes up, and he thinks he still has to work in the animus. They tell him otherwise, but he has a hard time comprehending it.

Annnnd that’s all I’ve got. Sound, uh, good?

Omg, I just found a short writing from my second trimester English class. You guys should read it. <3 It’s from Desmond’s point of view, using words that my teacher told us to include. I won’t point them out, it’s just grammar practice and vocabulary.

“What is a man but the sum of his memories?”
That’s what someone once told me. Then again, he was a deranged psychopath who’d died and been left in a computer, so maybe he’s not the best man to take advice from. On the other hand, he and I are related somewhere down the line. Probably from hundreds of years ago thanks to a man from the Italian Renaissance. How do I know this?
Well, when you’re trapped in the past, connected to a supercomputer that forces you to relive your ancestors’ past lives…

Yeah, you learn things.

The first life I relived was a Syrian assassin by the name of Altair ibn-la A’had (his last name means “Son of none”, which makes no sense because his father’s name was known at the time). He lived in a barren desert with a brotherhood of other assassins. He had eventually led his order from ruin and tyranny by using the wisdom he had gained through his battles and personal experiences.

The next ancestor was a Florentine nobleman named Ezio Auditore da Firenze (“Da Firenze” translating to “Of Florence”, where he was born). He also rose up through his brotherhood (which he rebuilt) and became the leader, travelling to Rome, the capital. There, he took on Rodrigo Borgia’s son, Cesare Borgia. They were a Spanish family attempting to use the power of Rodrigo’s new rank as pope to take over Italy, and possibly the world, by sheer force. Eventually Ezio defeated them and even traveled to where Altair was born and connected all the pieces he’d left behind.
I suppose that was the reason behind my reliving the memories.

With all these memories from these ancestors’ lives alongside my own, I’ve learned that life can be cruel. It can take away your family, your home, your friends, and even the woman you love - but you just have to learn to get past these things, no matter how hard, how difficult, how terrifying…

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have my own history to make for my descendants, and an Earth to save.

My name is Desmond Miles, and I am an Assassin.
